The Full Session Experience with Kathryn Lee

Full sessions include family sessions, extended family sessions and newborn sessions.

The Family Session:

Family sessions are held throughout the year and often book 6 months in advance.

Family photography has my heart. I love capturing the moments and connections that mean the most to my clients. Some of the best sessions I have documented take place at a location that means something to you. That may be your home or it may be a place you’ve dreamed of all your life.

The Details: Family sessions typically last 60 minutes. The session fee covers the session preparation and styling, your shoot, and the professional editing. About two weeks after your session, clients meet with Kathryn Lee to go over the gallery of images and make selections for digitals and artwork.

Is there something your family loves to do?

Maybe you wait every year for those few weeks you’ve able to pick strawberries…or  maybe your family loves the fair. We can also plan your shoot around a favorite activity or during a favorite season.

Extended family members can be added to your session for an additional cost. Grandparents are always free.

Newborn Sessions:

How quickly do those curly, sleepy baby moments pass us by?

Newborn photographs capture those fleeting moments. Here at Kathryn Lee Photography, we practice “natural newborn photography.” We want to capture your little one as they are at this age. That means the newborn sessions are often shot in-home with few props to focus on the connections and perfect details of your new little one.

The Fresh 48: We absolutely love to capture Fresh 48 sessions, which are typically held within 48 hours of baby’s birth, give or take a few days. These are not a full newborn session, but still capture those first memories of baby. This is a great option for clients looking to capture the location of baby’s birth or for clients who are not ready to invest in a full newborn session. This can be added to a full newborn session at a discounted cost.

There is a $150 session fee to reserve your Full Session Experience with Kathryn Lee.

The entire $150 can used toward your collection at the time of your session premiere.
Peak dates (fall session and spring sessions) often book six months in advance.

Collections begin at $1200. The session fee credit does not include mini sessions or associate sessions.

The KLP Way: Planning to Premiere

I believe one of the most important ingredients to a fantastic photo session is good communication. My heart is to go above and beyond your expectations. Here’s the photo session process, from planning to the premiere, the KLP way.

One month before your session:

One month before your session, we will chat about all the details for your session including potential locations, outfits ideas, and the overall style of the shoot. You will also receive a pre-session survey to help me better prepare for our time together!

01/05

One week before your session:

We will finalize all the details of your photo shoot! We’ll go over your outfit selections and also talk about details to make the session unique to you. We’ll answer any lingering questions and make sure you feel fantastic and prepared for our upcoming day!

02/05

The day of your session:

Sessions typically take place within an hour of sunrise or sunset. Usually within one week from your session, you can expect to see a sneak peek posted on Facebook, Pinterest, and/or Instagram. Get excited – and make sure you’re following KLP on all of the above!

03/05

Two-three weeks after your session:

If you scheduled a Full Session Experience, we will schedule your Session Premiere! The Session Premiere has been designed as a special service for the families of Kathryn Lee Photography. We will meet in your home, a coffee shop, or my studio to help you create your portrait art. If you are located more than 40 miles from the KLP studio, you may be given the option for a virtual premiere.

I strongly believe in the importance of printing your artwork. We can create a unique collection that fits your family or you can select one of the collections that I have created based on my previous client’s choices. Sharing your photographs with you at the session premiere is my favorite part. That night we will unveil your new portraits, watch a custom designed slideshow and you will receive special pricing for your premiere night only!

If you scheduled a Mini Session or Associate Session Experience, you’ll receive an email with a link to your digital gallery. You will have one week, the “premiere week,“ to view your images and select a digital collection.

04/05

Four weeks after your premiere:

Depending on when you order your prints and products – and what you’re ordering – expect to receive a package within three to four weeks from your order date. Items such as albums or cards/invitations require extra in-house work, so they may take the full four weeks. Simple prints or gallery wraps, on the other hand, are typically delivered more quickly.

FAQ

What studio policies do you have?

Great question! Like every business, we have a few policies to help things run smoother.
Please inquire with any additional questions or concerns.
  • The session fee is due upon booking to reserve your date and is non-refundable. It is transferable should an emergency come up. Rescheduling of the session depends on KLP availability and cancellation of a second session forfeits your session fee.
  • The $150 session fee credit is only applicable for Full Session Experiences with Kathryn Lee.
  • Collections are only available during the session premiere itself or during the “premiere week” for mini sessions.
  • We do not sell images, digitals or other professional artwork a la carte without the purchase of a collection.
  • All images are stored for one year. Outside of one year, we cannot guarantee that we will have a copy of your images, slideshow or gallery.
  • All images are selected by Kathryn Lee Photography and RAW images are never sold.
  • Gift cards or credits are valid one year from purchase, unless otherwise stated by Kathryn Lee Photography.

How did you get started in photography and videography?

Photography has always been a passion of mine. I was that friend of yours that never left home without her camera! In college, I took photography courses and spent time learning the in’s and out’s of photographic and broadcast journalism. I sharpened my movie making skills by creating news stories in college and highlight films for local high school teams. In 2011, I began taking photos for family and friends. I continued my education through multiple workshops, course, and experience. Kathryn Lee Photography officially became a business in 2014.

02/09

What is a Family Film?

I have always loved to make movies of my different adventures–my trip to Europe, vacation in Hawaii, and new home in Stuttgart. After welcoming my daughter into our lives this past April, I began making memory videos of her different milestones. How special to capture these memories not only with photos, but with videos too! A Family Film can capture any important milestone–a birthday, a new baby, or a grandparent’s legacy story.

03/09

What’s your style?

I love photos that tell your story. Many of my pictures and videos are photojournalistic in style. Your life and memories tell the story. During your session I try to capture your personality and who you are! I love capturing those candid moments and connections, but I always capture those classic portrait shots as well.

04/09

Where do the sessions take place?

Newborn sessions are held in my studio or at your home.  Fresh 48 sessions are typically held at the hospital or the place of your new baby’s birth. Family sessions take place at a location determined by us. We’ll work together to choose a theme and appropriate backdrop that suits your style. Sessions can be indoors or outdoors.

05/09

What should I wear? What should I bring?

When you hire me as your photographer, you’re also hiring my artistic vision and ideas. We’ll work together to style your session and I’ll set you up with my easy styling service! We will go over ideas for outfit changes and anything to bring along.

06/09

What happens after my session?

Your session premiere! This is my absolute FAVORITE part. About 2-3 weeks after your session, we’ll meet up at your home or my studio to unveil your gorgeous new photos. At the session premiere, you’ll have access to special collections and discount prices available that night only. I always try to post a few sneak peek photos to my Facebook or blog as well.

07/09

How do I book a session?

Each month I only take a limited amount of sessions, so it is best to book your session 4-8 weeks in advance.

08/09

How much do your sessions cost?

The session fee is $150 which covers your pre-session consulation, your session, and your session premiere. The fee is due upon booking and is non-refundable. It is transferable should an emergency come up. The $150 session fee can be credited toward a collection purchased during your session premiere. Digital Collections begin at $150. Clients typically invest between $1200 – $2100 for their custom portrait experience. Please inquire for additional information on pricing and collections.
