By now, you’ve probably heard our news. Emily was sitting up at the counter – on a chair that she’s very used to sitting on – at the counter she always eats/plays/colors/etc.-
and she fell.
Andrew and I were both in the room when it happened. She was pushing up on the counter to situate herself a bit better on the chair, but accidentally put her hand on the coloring book on the counter. That slipped out from underneath her grasp, and – boom – right to the floor she went, hand first.
It was pretty obvious right away that it was broken – her arm was a bit like a wave and definitely bending in a spot that it shouldn’t be bending in. A quick visit to the ER and she was in a splint. One week later she has this pretty cast to show off.
The bad news (other than the pain and scare of the break): it’s the hottest part of summer and we’ll be avoiding the pools for a few weeks. The good news: it is already looking better (via xray) and the cast *should* be off before the 4th of July.
In other news: it hasn’t slowed her down one bit. ;)
